Omar Tag is an experienced software engineer specializing in perception for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and autonomous driving. Currently serving as an Expert Software Engineer at AVL since October 2021, Omar leads the development of the Perception Software stack, focusing on 2D and 3D object fusion, tracking, and localization using C++. Prior to this role, Omar worked at Valeo as an Algorithm Software Engineer, where significant contributions were made to the development of Slot Detection Algorithms for parking assistance systems and the establishment of test frameworks. Omar's background also includes academic experience as a Teaching Assistant at the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport and participation in various software development projects, including Android and UNITY applications. Omar holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Engineering from the same institution.
