Neil Bennett serves as the Director of Communications and Engagement at Avon and Somerset Police since April 2023, focusing on strategic communications, reputation management, and crisis communications to enhance public trust and stakeholder confidence. Prior to this role, Neil was an Executive Committee Member at CIRCOM Regional, representing the BBC and overseeing its training program. With extensive experience at the BBC from 1997 to 2023, Neil held various leadership positions, including Editor and Head of Regional & Local Programmes, spearheading integrated newsroom operations and innovative news delivery in the West of England. Neil's educational background includes a degree in Ancient History and Archaeology from the University of Birmingham, a Postgraduate Diploma in Broadcast Journalism, and a Diploma in Business Administration.
