Derek McCain II

Derek McCain II, HDFP, EDFP, currently serves as the Director of Real Estate and Community Development at Avondale Development Corporation since January 2023, overseeing key projects and real estate activities in collaboration with the executive director and community stakeholders. Prior experience includes a Development Manager role at the City of Cincinnati from February 2018 to January 2023, leading the Housing Division's operations and policy implementation, and a Senior Development Officer position at the City of Dayton from September 2015 to February 2018, focusing on community development programs. Derek's career also includes roles at the Cincinnati Metropolitan Housing Authority and various positions in community service and management. Educational credentials include a Master of Arts in City/Urban, Community, and Regional Planning and a Bachelor's Degree in Urban Studies/Affairs, both from Jackson State University.
