Ariel Xu has extensive experience in the field of social finance and responsible investment. Ariel has held various roles in different organizations, starting in 2011 as a Senior Program Officer at the China Association of Microfinance. In 2013, they joined CreditEase as a CSR Manager, specializing in social finance, and also served as the program director of the China Initiative for Social Finance.
From 2016 to 2017, Ariel worked at LGT Venture Philanthropy Foundation as an Impact Fellow and Impact Integration Manager in China. During this time, they managed the social impact performance at MamaDaV and supported partnership development for LGT IV. Ariel also played a key role in setting up the strategic CSR program "Read for Love Campaign" and establishing the company's philanthropy fund.
Following their time at LGT, Ariel served as the General Secretary at the China Social Investment Forum, where they focused on eco-system building and program implementation for responsible investment, ESG investment, and green finance. Ariel also served as the China Network Coordinator for UNEP FI.
Most recently, Ariel took on roles at AVPN, starting in 2018 as a China Consultant and later becoming the Head of Operations, China in 2021.
Throughout their career, Ariel has demonstrated expertise in strategic planning, content development, event coordination, partnership building, and the management of social impact programs.
Ariel Xu obtained an MBA in Global Management from Tulane University - A.B. Freeman School of Business, completing the program from 2010 to 2011. Prior to that, they pursued an MBA in Strategy from the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, where they studied from 2009 to 2011.
