Alexey Sokolov

Alexey Sokolov has held several positions in the railway industry since 2011. Alexey began their career as Deputy CEO at the Russian Railway Research Institute and then became Vice Chairman of the Joint Scientific Council at Russian Railways in 2011. In 2015, they took on the role of First Deputy CEO at United Wagon Company and Vice President at the Association of Steel Industry Enterprises. In 2016, they became Chairman of the Board of Directors at the All-Union Research and Development Centre for Transportation Technology and Deputy Chairman of the Technical Standardization Committee "Railway Transport". In 2017, they became Vice President at the Railway Rolling Stock Producers and Users Union and Chairman of the Supervisory Board at the Moscow Institute of Railway Engineering. Finally, in 2019, they were appointed Chief Technology Officer at Avvyland.

Alexey Sokolov's educational history includes a Doctor of Science from Saint-Petersburg State Transport University, obtained in 2008 in Engineering. Alexey also obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from the same university in 1998 in Railroad and Railway Transportation. Their first degree was an Engineer's degree from Saint-Petersburg State Transport University, obtained in 1995 in Mechanical Engineering.
