Christopher Ridgewell has a diverse work experience in various roles and companies. Christopher started their career in 1992 at Lloyd's Register as a Surveyor and later became a Senior Surveyor and Project Manager. During their time there, they worked on projects such as the construction of LNG carriers and passenger ships. Christopher also served as the Business Development Manager for Japan. In 2005, they joined NAPA as a Naval Architect, where they provided customer service, training, and development of tools for ship design software. In 2008, they returned to Lloyd's Register as a Senior Surveyor and later became a Lead Specialist in LNG and a Client Manager. Finally, in 2014, they joined AW-Energy Oy, initially as the Chief Technology Officer and later became the CEO. In this role, they led the team in designing and building the world's first certified wave energy converter.

Christopher Ridgewell attended Newcastle University from 1988 to 1992, where they studied Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering. Christopher did not obtain a specific degree during this time. In addition to their education, Christopher has obtained several certifications, including being a Chartered Engineer from the Engineering Council, Eur Ing from FEANI, a Fellow of The Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology (IMarEST), and a Member of the Royal Institution of Naval Architects.
