Jari Ijäs

Jari Ijäs has had a diverse and extensive work experience in the design field. Jari began their career at Nokia, where they held various roles such as Graphic Designer, Industrial Designer, Design Manager, Sr. Industrial Designer, and Chief Specialist in Concept Design. Jari then worked as the Head of Design at UNIQOTEQ Ltd. and later as the Lead Researcher at Design Foundation Finland. In 2011, Jari became the CEO of AVARTE GROUP OY, a company that specializes in selling furniture pieces and providing interior design solutions. Jari also founded Tempisti.fi (Roitest Oy) in 2014. Jari has held positions as a Design Specialist at Kongsberg Maritime and as a Freelance Designer at JTI Design. Jari'smost recent role is as the Head of Design at AWAKE.AI.

Jari Ijäs pursued their education in a chronological manner, starting with their attendance at the Commercial College of Porvoo from 1985 to 1987. During this time, they focused on the field of study of marketing. Following this, they enrolled at the Helsinki Business Polytechnic School from 1993 to 1994, where they studied business administration.

Continuing their educational journey, Jari attended the LAB University of Applied Sciences from 1994 to 1998, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Industrial Design. Subsequently, they joined Ravensbourne University London in 1997, where they engaged in studying product design for a brief period.

Finally, Jari Ijäs furthered their education at Aalto University from 2000 to 2008, obtaining a Master of Arts degree in Industrial Design. This marks the culmination of their formal education, showcasing their passion and expertise in this field.
