Derek Freese

Derek Freese has a diverse work experience spanning various roles in sales and marketing. Derek started their career at Gundersen Health System as a Healing Arts Specialist. In 2014, they joined Viking Coca-Cola Bottling Company as a Marketing Coordinator/Graphic Designer and later advanced to the role of Marketing Manager. In 2017, Derek joined Apogee Workforce as a Marketing Manager and eventually became the Vice President of Sales and Marketing, where they focused on developing marketing approaches for workforce management. In 2017, they also started working at Award Staffing as a Marketing Manager and later became the Director of Sales & Marketing. Currently, Derek is the Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Award Staffing, where they strive to help job seekers find their future and creates comprehensive marketing strategies.

Derek Freese's education history begins in 2008 when they attended Viterbo University. Derek pursued a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree with a focus on Sculpture, which they successfully completed in 2012.

Following their undergraduate studies, Derek continued their education at Viterbo University from 2012 to 2014. During this period, they obtained a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Servant Leadership.

In 2023, Derek enrolled at Viterbo University once again, this time aiming for a higher academic achievement. Derek pursued a Doctor of Education (EdD) degree with a specialization in Ethical Leadership, which they completed in 2025.

In addition to their academic pursuits, Derek obtained certification as a Certified Staffing Professional (CSP) from the American Staffing Association in October 2021.
