Risk Specialist at Aware Super

Grant Hamilton has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Starting in 2004, they worked at Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein as a SOX Assurance and Balance Sheet Substantiation specialist, where they conducted process mapping, control testing, and proposed streamlining opportunities. In 2006, they moved to Dresdner Kleinwort as a Product Controller for Fixed Income, Currency, and Commodities. Grant joined CBA in 2007 as a Financial and Product Controller, responsible for daily and month-end accounting activities.

In 2008, they transitioned to Deutsche Bank as an Associate VP for Financial and Product Control, specializing in Interest Rate Derivatives. Following that, they worked at Investec Bank Australia as a Senior Financial Controller for Treasury and Trading. Grant joined JP Morgan in 2010 as an Associate VP for Financial and Product Control Futures and Options, also assuming the role of Change Manager.

In 2011, Grant became a Change Manager and Project SME at Commonwealth Bank. Grant then moved to Westpac in 2012, starting as a member of the WiB Risk & Assurance team. Grant later became a Risk Lead/Senior Business Analyst (Technology) for User Access Management, a Financial Markets Operational and Compliance Risk Associate Director, and an Operational and Compliance Lead Risk Adviser for Westpac Institutional Bank.

Grant's roles at Westpac included responsibilities such as building MIS reporting, mapping product approval processes, identifying conduct-related gaps, and advising on remediation requirements. Grant also contributed to risk mitigation strategies in technology, payment platforms, and financial statements. Grant continued their risk-focused career at Westpac, working in Business Control and Operational Risk for Group Finance, as well as Risk in Change across the Consumer Bank, Projects, and Change.

Currently, Grant is working at Aware Super as a Risk Specialist, where they utilize their expertise in managing risk across various domains.

Grant Hamilton obtained a Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science degree in Business Studies, Marketing, and Finance from Canterbury Christ Church University, where they studied from 1997 to 2000. Grant later pursued further education at ICAEW, completing their FCA degree between the years 2001 and 2004.
