Helen Carroll

Helen Carroll has over 24 years of work experience in various roles within the financial and legal sectors. Helen is currently working at Aware Super as the Head of Enterprise Compliance and Regulatory Affairs since February 2023. Prior to this, they served as the Head of Risk and Compliance at Aware Super from November 2020 to February 2023.

Before joining Aware Super, Helen worked at Westpac as a Compliance - Group Functions from March 2019 to November 2020. Prior to that, they held multiple roles at BT, including Royal Commission Business Lead, Advice from March 2018 to March 2019, National Manager, Conduct and Planner Risk Insights from October 2017 to February 2019, and National Manager, Investigations and Planner Risk Insights, BT Advice from October 2013 to September 2017.

Helen's previous experience includes working at ASIC as a Senior Manager, Financial Advisers from March 2009 to September 2013. Helen also worked at Zurich Insurance Company Ltd as a Legal Counsel, General Insurance from March 2008 to February 2009, and at BT Financial Group as a Legal Counsel, Regulatory Affairs and Corporate Legal from January 2007 to February 2008.

In the early years of their career, Helen held roles at Colonial First State as a Senior Specialist, Professional Standards from October 2005 to January 2007, at QBE Insurance as a Senior Lawyer, Public Liability and Professional Indemnity from July 2004 to October 2005, at QBE Management Services as a Solicitor, Public Liability and Professional Indemnity from March 2002 to July 2004. Helen started their career as a Senior Associate at Holman Webb Lawyers from October 1997 to July 2001.

Helen Carroll has attended UNSW, where they pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Bachelor of Laws degree. Helen also completed a Graduate Diploma at The College of Law Australia. Additionally, Helen went to Loreto Kirribilli, although it is unclear if they obtained any specific degree from there. Furthermore, they obtained a Certificate of Executive Leadership from AGSM @ UNSW Business School.
