Monica Wirtz

Monica Wirtz is a Senior Advisor Legal at AWVN, the General Dutch Employers Organisation, since July 2006, specializing in collective labour law, European labour law, and labour market issues. Responsibilities include writing articles and briefs, as well as advising the Dutch Ministry of Social Affairs on employer-related matters in Dutch labour law. Previously, Monica served as a Juridisch adviseur, providing independent legal advice on private labour law and collective labour agreements to medium and large employers, including prominent companies such as Unilever and Philips. Monica earned a PhD in labour law and social policy from Utrecht University, completing a thesis on the intersection of collective labour agreements and competition law. Education was completed with a master's degree in Dutch law at Utrecht University from 1996 to 1999.
