Kane Armstrong has been working in the software engineering field since 2011. Kane began their career at Datacom as a Software Engineer and Software Developer, where they designed, built, tested, and maintained a range of applications, including RPA, web applications, REST APIs, long-running services, chatbots, and more. In 2018, they moved to Valocity Global as a Technical Lead and Senior Software Engineer, where they were responsible for designing and implementing the next generation of the product and leading a team of developers/testers to deliver this product to a large market. In 2019, they joined RUSH as a Senior Software Engineer (Squad Lead) and Senior Software Engineer, and in 2021 they were promoted to Technical Director. In this role, they worked in a hands-on engineering manager role, working with several engineering teams to ensure they were shipping scalable, secure, and tested software for customers, with a main focus on the COVID Tracer app. In 2020, they joined Xero as a Lead Software Engineer, working in a squad on the Practice Platform team to improve the quality, performance, and reliability of several services. Kane is currently employed at Axelar Network and IAG as a Senior Distributed Systems Engineer and Senior Software Engineer, respectively.
Kane Armstrong attended The University of Auckland from 2009 to 2011, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Computer Science.
