Florin Blanaru

Florin Blanaru has a diverse work experience in the field of software engineering. Florin started their career as a Graduate Software Engineer at The Hut Group in 2017, where they enabled mailing and e-marketing microservices to support multiple data centers. Florin collaborated with different teams to set proper performance metrics for various components. In 2019, Florin worked as a Java Software Engineer at Vix Technology, where they worked with Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) systems and troubleshooted performance issues in microservices pipeline. Florin then transitioned to The University of Manchester as a Senior Research Software Engineer, contributing to the development of TornadoVM, a JVM runtime for running Java/Truffle languages on heterogeneous hardware. During their time at the university, they implemented a PTX backend for NVIDIA GPUs and added functionality for overlapping computation and data transfers via batching. Recently, Florin has worked as a Senior Software Engineer at OctoML, where they contributed to software development projects. Currently, they are employed as a Senior Software Engineer at Axelera AI.

Florin Blanaru pursued their education in the field of Computer Science. From 2015 to 2019, they attended The University of Manchester, where they obtained their Bachelor's degree. Florin furthered their studies at the same institution from 2020 to 2021, completing a Master of Philosophy - MPhil in Computer Science.
