Patanjali Somayaji has a diverse work experience spanning over multiple companies and roles. Starting in 2001, they co-founded and served as the CEO and CTO of Codito Technologies, where they built a successful open-source business focusing on embedded Linux kernel and compiler services. In 2006, Codito Technologies was acquired by Azingo Inc, and Somayaji continued to work there as the Director of Engineering and later as the Senior Director and Head of Engineering & Product Development. At Azingo Inc, they led the development teams in Pune and Hyderabad and collaborated with Tier-1 operators and OEMs to deliver the Azingo Mobile platform. In 2010, they joined Motorola Mobility as the Director of Engineering & Site Lead in Pune, where they oversaw engineering delivery, site operations, and managed overall integrated delivery for software upgrades on various Android platforms. In 2013, Somayaji co-founded Petabyte Labs, and one year later, in 2014, they co-founded Walnut App (A Capital Float Company), where they held various leadership positions, including CEO and COO. Finally, since 2018, they have been serving as the Chief Technology Officer at Axio.

Patanjali Somayaji attended St. Vincents from 1985 to 1996. From 1996 to 2000, they studied at Savitribai Phule Pune University where they earned a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree in Computer Science.
