Sagar Chavan

Sagar Chavan has extensive experience in the field of information security and technology. Sagar is currently working at Axis Mutual Fund as the Senior Vice President & Chief Information Security Officer. Prior to this, they held the position of Vice President & BUISO - Legal & Compliance CoE at Morgan Stanley from 2020 to 2023. Sagar also served as the Associate Director & Chief Information Security Officer at CRISIL Limited from 2017 to 2020. Before that, Sagar was the Chief Information Security Officer - CISO at SBI Capital Markets from 2014 to 2017. Sagar gained valuable experience as the Associate VP - Security Consulting at ControlCase from 2013 to 2014 and Senior IT Security Consultant at Symantec from 2009 to 2013. Earlier in their career, they worked as a Senior Systems Engineer at Patni Computer Services from 2005 to 2009 and as a Network Support Engineer at sixth sense informatics pvt ltd from 2003 to 2005.

Sagar Chavan attended Saint Peter's School from 1985 to 1995 where they obtained their ICSE. Sagar then pursued a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree in Electronics from Thadomal Shahani Engineering College, completing it from 1998 to 2002. Sagar also has additional certifications including PCI-QSA from the PCI Security Standards Council, obtained in October 2013, and Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) from (ISC)², obtained in 2011.
