Overview

Axle is looking to add a driven, flexible, organized, and meticulous Laboratory Technician to our dynamic team. The Contractor(s) shall provide services in support of the overall functions of the Vaccine Research Center (VRC), Nonhuman Primate Immunogenicity (NIC).

Technical Requirements:
  • Isolate peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) from whole blood using density gradient separation according to GLP guidelines. 
  • Support team members with tissue processing and assays as needed. 
  • Calibrate and operate of a variety of laboratory instruments such as serological pipet-aids, cell counters, centrifuges, controlled rate freezers, and liquid nitrogen freezers. 
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures. 
  • Maintain accurate, daily records of experiments. 
  • Assist with storage, retrieval, shipment of specimens and prepare shipping documents. 
  • Share in responsibility of cleaning, re-stocking, and up-keep of the laboratory. 
Specific Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Immunology, Biology, or related field. 
  • Minimum of one (1) year of previous related experience is required. 
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time at a computer and/or biosafety cabinet; ability to move within the worksite.
