Gonzalo Alvarez is a seasoned technology leader with extensive experience in engineering and architecture roles across notable companies. Currently serving as VP/Distinguished Engineer at Axon since July 2025, Gonzalo previously held the position of VP, Executive Distinguished Engineer at Capital One, focusing on technology strategies and customer service enhancements. Gonzalo's tenure at Amazon spanned over a decade, during which time roles included Principal Software Engineer and Software Development Engineer, working on various product lines. Prior experience includes senior engineering roles at The Server Labs, European Space Agency, and an academic role at Universidade de Vigo, culminating in a degree in Telematics Engineering from Universidade de Vigo.
