Sharmila Karnik

Sharmila Karnik has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and roles. Sharmila is currently the VP of Project Management at Axonics, Inc. since March 2023. Prior to this, they held the position of Sr. Director of Project Management at Axonics, Inc. from March 2022 to March 2023. Sharmila also served as the Director of Project Management at Axonics, Inc. from April 2017 to March 2022.

Before joining Axonics, Inc., Sharmila worked as a Project Management Consultant at Axonics Modulation from September 2014 to April 2017. Prior to that, they were a Program Manager at Edwards Lifesciences from February 2013 to January 2014.

Sharmila has extensive experience in the medical device industry, as seen from their roles at Cardiac Science. Sharmila worked as a Program Manager from October 2011 to February 2013, where they led cross-functional teams and conducted usability studies for medical device products. Prior to that, they held the position of Project Manager from October 2007 to September 2011 and Software Engineer from October 2004 to October 2007 at the same company.

In addition to their work in the medical device industry, Sharmila also has experience as a Software Engineer at NMS Communications from June 2000 to June 2003 and as an Intern at Vocal Technologies from January 2000 to June 2000. Sharmila started their career as a Graduate Assistant at Walkway Technology Node from January 1999 to December 1999 and as a Software Engineer at Tata Infotech from June 1997 to August 1998.

Sharmila Karnik has a diverse education history. In 1993, they completed their Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree in Electronics from the University of Mumbai. Following this, from 1998 to 2000, they pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Computer Networks at Buffalo State University. Sharmila further enhanced their knowledge and skills by obtaining a Project Management Professional Certificate from UC Irvine between 2007 and 2009.
