Ester Masllorens

Ester Masllorens, PhD, has extensive work experience in R&D and innovation roles in the pharmaceutical industry. Ester has served as the Chief Technology Officer at Axplora since 2022, where they manage R&D and innovation globally across 9 sites in multiple countries. Prior to that, they held the same role at Pharmazell and Novasep Group from 2022 to 2022, overseeing R&D teams in 9 sites. Earlier in their career, they served as the Chief Technology Officer at PharmaZell Group from 2020 to 2022, leading R&D departments in Germany, Italy, and India. Before that, they were the Head of R&D at Uriach, responsible for chemical, galenic, and analytical development. Ester also held various leadership roles at Medichem, S.A., including Head of Technology Platforms and ADMV, Head of Technology Platforms, Head of Process Safety, and Process R&D Safety Specialist. Ester began their career as a researcher and associated professor at Universitat de Girona, focusing on organic synthesis and electrochemistry. Ester Masllorens has a strong background in R&D management and has worked in various countries throughout their career.

Ester Masllorens, PhD, received their Doctorate in Chemistry with a specialization in Organometallic Chemistry and Catalysis from Universitat de Girona in 2006. Prior to that, they completed their undergraduate studies at the same institution, earning a Degree in Chemistry from 1997 to 2001. In 2022, they pursued further education in Business Administration and Management at IESE Business School.
