Sharon Lowry has over 20 years of experience working as a Clinical Nurse and Nursing Director, specializing in oncology. Throughout their clinical career, they have worked across four countries and made significant contributions to the implementation of the National Cancer Strategy in Ireland. During their time in oncology, they developed innovative patient management tools, established the first nurse-led oncology clinic in Ireland, and authored a widely used patient support book titled "Coping with Chemotherapy".
In addition to their clinical experience, Sharon has held various leadership roles in the healthcare industry. Sharon worked as the Healthcare Practice Lead for the Asia Pacific Healthcare Division at Kronos Incorporated, where they helped organizations improve workforce productivity and control labor costs through workforce management solutions. Sharon also served as the General Manager of Workforce Management Solutions at ComOps and as the General Manager for Australia & New Zealand at Workforce Edge, where they played a key role in delivering positive business outcomes and driving customer and employee satisfaction.
Most recently, Sharon has been the Director and Principal of Lowry Business Consulting (LBC), where they bring a fresh perspective to workforce planning in the healthcare sector. LBC aims to improve workforce practices in response to the changing landscape of healthcare delivery.
Currently, Sharon is the Managing Director for APAC at Axsium Group, where they continue to bring their expertise in workforce planning to support healthcare administrators in optimizing their workforce practices.
Sharon Lowry's education history can be summarized as follows:
In 1981, they attended the North Herts School of Nursing, where they studied general nursing and obtained a degree in RGN in 1984. Following this, they enrolled at Charles Sturt University in 1995 and completed a Bachelor of Health Science (BHSc) in nursing in 1997.
In 1997, Sharon pursued further education and enrolled at the University College Dublin. Sharon completed a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Education and Training Management in 2000.
In 2009, Sharon attended the Australian Institute of Company Directors and participated in a residential course focused on company directors.
In 2012, they completed a certificate program in Change Management at Prosci Change Management.
Finally, in 2014, Sharon enrolled at the University of Queensland and obtained a Post Graduate Diploma in Applied Law in 2016.
