Nandita Aggarwal

Nandita Aggarwal is a highly experienced engineer in the field of optics and lidar technology. Currently serving as a Sr Staff Engineer in Laser Product Development at Ayar Labs since April 2023, Nandita previously held multiple positions at Velodyne Lidar, including Staff Lidar Architecture and Development Engineer and Sr. Lidar Architecture and Development Engineer, where significant contributions were made to the development of next-generation lidar sensors, particularly the Velabit project. Prior experience includes working as a Sr Optical Engineer at Spectra-Physics and as a Systems Engineer at Pacific Biosciences, where Nandita played a crucial role in the launch of the Sequel product. Academic qualifications include a PhD candidate in Optics/Optical Sciences from EPFL, an M. Tech. in Applied Optics from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, and a Master's Project at Technische Universität Berlin supported by a DAAD scholarship. Nandita also gained research experience as a Research Associate at Stanford University and as a Research Assistant at EPFL.
