Radek Roucka

Radek Roucka has a diverse work experience in technical roles. Radek is currently working at Ayar Labs as a Principal Engineer Laser Development and Validation, where they lead a team in developing and manufacturing laser modules. Prior to this, they worked at Array Photonics as a Senior Member of the Technical Team - Laser Program Manager, responsible for the design, fabrication, and testing of IR VCSEL arrays. Radek also worked at Solar Junction as a Senior Member of the Technical Team, leading LASER development programs and exploring new applications for dilute nitride technology. Radek started their career at Translucent Inc. as a Photovoltaic Product and Technology Development Manager, overseeing the development of core technology and CPV solar cell products. Radek also worked as a Senior Materials Engineer at Translucent Inc., implementing CVD technology for the synthesis of Ge and Ge-Sn on Si substrates. Radek gained research experience as a Faculty Research Associate at Arizona State University, focusing on the integration of group IV and III-V semiconductors on Si and developing photonic and photovoltaic devices.

Radek Roucka obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Science and Engineering of Materials from Arizona State University, where they studied from 2002 to 2004. Prior to that, they completed their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Physical Engineering from Brno University of Technology, from 1998 to 2002. Radek also holds an Ing. (M.S.) degree in Physical Engineering from the same university, which they earned from 1993 to 1998, specializing in the characterization of surfaces of solids by LEED.
