Ramya Ramankutty Nair is a researcher with extensive experience in environmental microbiology and biotechnology. Currently employed at Ayass BioScience, LLC since September 2021, Ramya focuses on developing and validating panels for multi-color flow cytometry assays and multiplex Luminex assays. Previously, at the National Centre for Aquatic Animal Health (NCAAH) from May 2011 to June 2017, Ramya conducted significant research on ammonia-oxidizers in bioaugmented zero water exchange shrimp ponds and studied environmental factors affecting their specialization, including physicochemical characterization of water and sediment and constructing a sequence-based library of ammonia-oxidizers. Ramya holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Environmental Microbiology and Biotechnology from Cochin University of Science and Technology, as well as a Master's degree in Biotechnology from RVS College of Arts and Science and a Bachelor's degree in Biotechnology from St. Joseph's College.
