With more than three decades of experience in architectural design and project management, Duane Carter is a firm resource on sustainability and high-performance building design. Thanks to his expertise in building simulation and analysis, he works to examine the performance impact of early design decisions related to energy efficiency, human comfort, and daylighting in order to make intelligent design recommendations for his clients.

A designer with a technical edge, Duane believes every project must reach a balance between beauty and performance. He approaches his work methodically, focusing on one issue at a time and taking pleasure in bringing order out of complications. Prior to joining the firm in 2018, Duane worked as an architect in Chicago for nearly 30 years. He loves working with experts in their fields and is grateful to have found a career where he can put his artistic talent and curiosity to good use in creating something new.
