David Carner

David Carner has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. David is currently working as the Manager of Commercial Modeling & Data Analytics at Aypa Power, starting in October 2021. Prior to this, they worked at NRG Energy as a Principal Risk Analyst from October 2014 to October 2021. Before NRG Energy, David worked at AES, where they held roles as a Commodity Risk Manager from 2012 to 2013 and as a Senior Commodity Analyst from 2010 to 2012. David also has experience as the Director of Energy Management at Competitive Power Ventures, Inc. from October 2008 to November 2010. Earlier in their career, David worked at Southern Company as a Risk Analyst from 2007 to 2008 and as a Portfolio Analyst from 2006 to 2007. David began their career as a Research Engineer at American Cast Iron Pipe Company from 2000 to 2004.

David Carner has a Bachelor of Science degree in Metallurgical Engineering from the Missouri University of Science and Technology, which they obtained between 1996 and 2000. David later pursued an MBA in Financial Engineering at the University of Alabama from 2004 to 2006.
