Eliza Wallace, PhD, has a diverse work experience spanning various fields. Starting in 2006, they worked as a Graduate Teaching Fellow at Boston University, where they assisted professors in undergraduate courses and delivered guest lectures. In 2010, they became a Graduate Writing Fellow, teaching an introductory writing course on urban landscape modifications at Boston University's Writing Program.
In 2013, Eliza took on the role of GIS Instructor at the Tel Akko Total Archaeology Project, teaching the GIS component of an archaeological field school and assisting students with their final projects. During the same year, they also joined the Metropolitan Area Planning Council as a Data Collection and Research Intern and later became a GIS Analyst. In this role, they created maps, conducted research, and reported results for the agency's planning projects, particularly those related to climate change adaptation and mitigation.
In 2018, Eliza joined PolicyMap, Inc. as a Data Development Lead. Eliza held this position for four years, overseeing data development and leading projects. Currently, they work as a Project Manager at Azavea since 2022.
Outside of their primary work roles, Eliza was involved in archaeological research projects. Eliza worked as a Researcher and Area Supervisor at the Tell es-Sweyhat Archaeological Project at Boston University. Their responsibilities included planning and supervising excavations, redesigning the database structure, and creating a project GIS. Throughout their career, Eliza has demonstrated expertise in GIS, data analysis, research, and project management.
Eliza Wallace, PhD, obtained their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Classical and Near Eastern Archaeology from Bryn Mawr College in 2004. Eliza then continued their education at Boston University, where they completed their Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Archaeology in 2009. Eliza further pursued their studies at Boston University and earned their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Archaeology in 2014.
