Vidar Bekken is the current Group CTO at Azets. Vidar has also previously worked as the IT Director/CTO at Visma and Senior Director Professional Services, Business Unit Director, and Manager Consolidation and Reporting at Affecto. Bekken has a total of 15 years of experience working in the IT industry.
Bekken started their career as a Senior consultant at Business Logic. Vidar then moved on to work as a Senior accountant at KPMG as for 2 years before joining Affecto. At Affecto, Bekken was responsible for consulting and operations. Vidar was also the Business Unit Director responsible for sales and consultant activities on all Oracle products in Affecto. After 4 years at Affecto, Bekken joined Visma as the IT Director/CTO. In this role, they were responsible for all IT related activities in the division.
Bekken is now the Group Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Azets. As CTO, their key responsibility is securing a high-quality technological platform for users and customers. Part of this is making sure that the IT strategy is aligned with business needs and ready for future changes and growth. The IT organization is a decentralized team with 200+ employees in the Nordic’s and also two nearshore centres in Lithuania and Romania. This includes development team developing tailor-made solutions to increase automation, efficiency or better customer experience. Their most known asset is their customer portal with +100.000 users. The role includes budget responsibility for the division's IT spendings and following up on suppliers and partners.
Vidar Bekken has a background in information technology and economics. Vidar studied at the Norwegian School of Information Technology from 1999 to 2001 and then at Oslo and Akershus University College from 1994 to 1997, where they qualified as a certified accountant.
