Kevin Travis has a diverse work experience in the chemical industry. Kevin started their career at Croda in 1992, where they worked as a Various Chemist focusing on R&D, Technical Service, and Quality Control. Kevin then moved on to Houghton Plc in 1998, where they served as a Senior Development Chemist, specializing in R&D in areas such as Rolling, Forming, Metal Working, Rust Prevention, and Quenching. At both Croda and Houghton Plc, they developed new technologies and products while solving customer problems and improving product quality. In 2005, Travis transitioned to the education sector, working as a Teacher at Serlby Park Academy, primarily teaching science to students ranging from Year 6 to Year 13, with a specialization in Chemistry. Kevin focused on practical and skill-based teaching methods. In 2014, they joined eChem Ltd. as a SHE Officer and Process Development Chemist. Finally, in 2017, they joined Aztec Oils Ltd, starting as the Head of Technical and later moving up to the position of Technical Director in September 2020.

Kevin Travis attended the University of Hull from 1994 to 1997, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Chemistry. Kevin later pursued a post-graduate certification in Education (PGCE) from the University of Hull in 2004-2005, specializing in Science (Chemistry). In 2007, Travis enrolled at Sheffield Hallam University where they completed a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Learning and Teaching, which concluded in 2011.
