Erik van Dijk

Erik van Dijk has extensive work experience in various roles and companies. Erik is currently serving as a Partner and Lead Product Realisation at MD squared B.V., a consultancy company specializing in Medical Technology. In this role, Erik works with a diverse range of customers, providing expertise in Product Definition, Clinical Development and Evaluation, Quality and Regulatory, Product Development, Business Development, and Go-to-Market Strategy.

Prior to their current position, Erik served as a Non Executive Director at Azul Optics. Erik also held leadership positions at EasyScan B.V., where they served as the CEO and the COO. As CEO, Erik played a crucial role in developing a retinal scanner specifically for Independent Opticians. Additionally, they contributed to the growth and success of the company during their tenure.

Earlier in their career, Erik worked at Philips Healthcare as an Innovation Program Manager & Department Head for Integrated Real-Time Interventional Systems. In this role, they were responsible for defining and developing new products and features. Fast prototyping and customer evaluations were crucial components of their work to mitigate risks.

Before joining Philips Healthcare, Erik worked at Philips Lighting as the Homes Segment Innovation Manager. Erik led a team in defining the long-term strategy for consumer lighting products and played a vital role in achieving the CEO's target of having 50% LED articles by 2015. Erik also contributed to the modular architecture development of new luminaires and established partnerships with production partners in China.

Erik's career began at Philips Research, where they served as a Project Leader and Senior Researcher. Erik conducted research in nano optics and single molecule detection. Prior to that, they worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Twente, focusing on ultrafast laser spectroscopy of individual molecules.

Erik van Dijk completed their education in a chronological order. Erik first attended sg. Jerusalem in Venray from 1989 to 1995, where they obtained their VWO degree. Erik then continued their studies at the University of Twente from 1995 to 2000, earning a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Physics. Finally, they pursued a PhD in Physics at the University of Twente from 2001 to 2005, completing their doctoral degree.
