William McCoy is currently serving as the Dean of the College of Arts, Humanities, Sciences, and Theology at Azusa Pacific University since July 2025, where leadership responsibilities encompass a new academic unit comprising nine different departments. Prior to this role, McCoy taught as Adjunct Faculty in History at Sattler College for the Spring 2025 semester, specializing in "Africa in World History." From August 2009 to September 2024, McCoy was a member of the teaching faculty at Eastern Nazarene College, focusing on African and European history, and also held the position of Chief Academic Officer & Accreditation Liaison Officer, where responsibilities included overseeing the academic portfolio and liaising with the regional accreditor. McCoy holds a PhD in African History from Boston University.
