Soonhac Hong, PhD has a wealth of experience in the field of robotics and research. Soonhac'scareer began in 1996 when they were a Senior Research Engineer at Samsung Techwin. Following this, they were a Graduate Research Assistant at Columbia University in the City of New York from 2008 to 2010, and a Student Associate at SRI International from 2010 to 2011. From 2011 to 2012, they were a Robotics Research Intern at Bosch. Soonhac then worked as a Senior Research Scientist at Sharp Labs of America from 2014 to 2017. During this time, they also worked as a Senior R&D Engineer at ABB from 2017 to 2019. In 2019, they became a Senior Research Scientist at Gatik, and in 2020, they were appointed Director of Autonomy and Senior Robotics Scientist at B GARAGE.

Soonhac Hong, PhD received their BS in Mechanical Engineering from Hanyang University in 1993. Soonhac then went on to receive their MS in Mechanical Engineering (Robotics) from Hanyang University in 1995. Soonhac then attended Columbia University and obtained their MS in Computer Science (Robotics) in 2010. Finally, they obtained their PhD in Engineering Science and Systems (Computer Vision) from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock in 2014.
