Fons van Lier

Fons van Lier is an experienced communication professional with a strong background in various roles related to content creation and corporate communication. Currently serving as a Communicatieadviseur for CBAM at the Nederlandse Emissieautoriteit since December 2023, Fons focuses on monitoring and regulating CO2 emissions under new European legislation. Concurrently, Fons works as a content and communication specialist for Babbage Company, mainly serving governmental clients. With a freelance career that began in 2009, Fons has written for numerous publications and websites, demonstrating versatility in journalism and editorial tasks. Prior to current positions, Fons held significant roles in communication at Vattenfall and ONVZ, managing diverse communication strategies, crisis communications, and stakeholder engagement. Fons holds advanced degrees in European Politics and the History of International Relations, complemented by professional training in corporate communication.
