Julie Hansen is the current Chief Executive Officer US at Babbel. Prior to their current position, they served as the President & COO at Business Insider from January 2008 to December 2016. While at Business Insider, they were responsible for revenue, operations, business development, international, finance, legal, talent, facilities, tech, and product development for the fastest-growing business web new site. Julie was hired as employee #5 and oversaw growth of the company up to its sale to Axel Springer SE in 2015, which was the largest M&A transaction in NYC digital media history at the time.

From October 2007 to February 2008, Hansen served as SVP, Interactive & GM at CBS Interactive where they managed CSTV’s consumer interactive businesses including NCAA.com. Julie was responsible for relaunching NCAA.com, the official league site of college sports. From June 2006 to October 2007, they served as Executive Director at Conde Nast Publications. And from July 2005 to May 2006, they served as Director of Business Development at Golf Digest Companies.

Hansen began their career in 1996 as VP & GM of Golf Magazine Digital at Time Inc. Julie held this position until 2005 when they became VP of Electronic Publishing at Penguin Group USA where they worked until 2006.

Julie Hansen has a MBA from Columbia University and a BA in English from Yale University.
