TJ Moretto

TJ Moretto is the Vice President of Engineering at Babylist. Prior to joining Babylist, TJ served as the Director of Software Development at MuscleSound, a sports performance technology company that offers SaaS products to help athletes, enthusiasts, and health care providers measure muscle health using ultrasound.

At MuscleSound, TJ was responsible for designing, developing, and operating all aspects of the company's technology platform from the ground-up. This included full-stack development of a Rails-based platform used by professional sports teams to monitor players for proper nutrition and to track their body fat / lean muscle mass. TJ was also a co-inventor of patented image analysis algorithms used to measure muscle fuel (glycogen) levels from ultrasound images. In addition, TJ authored, designed, and developed the company marketing website.

Under TJ's leadership, MuscleSound established all of the DevOps, customer support, and product management processes. TJ also updated systems and business processes to enable the handling of sensitive medical patient information - opening up a new market for the company's products. As the "end-to-end hiring owner" for all Engineering resources, TJ was responsible for job posting, screening, interviewing, and compensation negotiations. Finally, TJ was responsible for the selection, setup, and rollout of company business support systems including CRM, email, team chat, email marketing, and many others.

TJ Moretto has a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Iowa.
