Mingchao (Fisher) Yu

Co-founder And CTO at BabylonChain

Mingchao (Fisher) Yu has held various positions in the tech industry since 2015. From 2015 to 2017, they were a Lecturer at the Australian National University and a Senior System Engineer at InterfereX Communications, where they were the inventor of patented algorithms that triggered the acquisition of InterfereX by a NSDQ listed multinational company. Mingchao (Fisher) also developed network coding based distributed and concurrent data delivery algorithms, prepared patent applications, developed highly efficient C++ and Python codes, and worked with the team to build CLRifex OTT video streaming solution. From 2017 to 2018, they were a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Southern California. From 2018 to 2022, they were a Senior Staff Research Engineer and Staff Engineer at Dolby Laboratories. Currently, they are the Founder and CTO of BabylonChain Inc.

Mingchao (Fisher) Yu began their educational journey in 2004 when they enrolled at Northwestern Polytechnical University, where they earned a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) in Telecommunications Engineering in 2008. Mingchao (Fisher) then moved on to The Australian National University, where they earned a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in Telecommunications Engineering in 2012 and a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Telecommunications in 2016. In 2014, they also obtained a Professional Engineer certification from Engineering Australia.
