Erica Rider

Erica Rider has a diverse work history in product design and user experience. Erica started their career as the owner of Mayamo from 1996 to 2007. After that, they worked as a User Experience Designer at eBay for a year, leading UI design and presenting concepts to executive staff. From 2007 to 2011, Erica was the UX Lead for Resource Management at VMware, where they led cross-functional teams and promoted consistency across products. Erica then became the UX Architect/Tech Lead for VROPS and later the UX Architect for Cross Cloud Services at VMware. In these roles, they provided user experience leadership, managed product releases, and integrated multiple products into a single suite. Erica joined PayPal in 2018 as the Product and UX Design Lead for the PayPal Developer console, where they created a design process that accelerated product development and ensured a cohesive user experience. Erica also served as the Senior Manager of Product and Design for developer tools and platform experience at PayPal, driving the transition to a customer-focused organization and managing a global team. Currently, Erica is working as the Product Design Lead at Backblaze starting in 2023.

From 1974 to 1995, Erica Rider pursued apprenticeships in Art and Design, but did not obtain a degree in this field.
