Joe Bertnick

Joe Bertnick is an accomplished cybersecurity and technology leader with extensive experience across multiple organizations. Currently serving as Head of CyberSecurity at Backbone Connect since January 2024, Bertnick previously held significant roles at CyberOne as CISO and CTO, where responsibilities included leading security advisory efforts and developing cybersecurity roadmaps for clients. As Chief Technology Officer at UltraWell, Bertnick spearheaded the creation of innovative health care solutions utilizing mobile and wearable technology. Additional roles include Director of Product Management at Symantec, CIO at Westec, and Vice President of Products at GWAVA. Bertnick's military background includes service as a Staff Sergeant in the US Army, specializing as a Paramedic and Operating Room Specialist. Bertnick earned a Bachelor of Applied Science in Computer Science from the University of Nevada, Reno.
