Backflip AI
Nomi Yu is a graduate researcher at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, focusing on generative AI, design, and manufacturing in collaboration with Decode Lab and the Mechanosynthesis Group. Currently serving as an artificial intelligence intern at Backflip AI, Nomi is involved in AI for CAD and 3D geometry generation for engineering applications. Previous experience includes a software internship at Onshape by PTC, concentrating on machine learning for analysis and visualization, as well as a role as a mechatronics engineer at the Institute for Human and Machine Cognition, where Nomi contributed to dynamic humanoid robot development. Additional experience includes mechatronics integration and control code design for an automated bartending kiosk at Rotender. Nomi holds a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Caltech.
