Christian Førgaard Nielsen has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Christian Førgaard started their career at Talking Street English in 2010, where they taught English to a wide range of students. In 2013, they worked as a Teaching Assistant in Molecular Microbiology at the Technical University of Denmark, where they helped students understand and solve theoretical problems and organized lab exercises.

In 2014, they took on the role of Novo Science Ambassador at Danish Science Factory, where they spoke at Danish high schools, presenting biotechnological subjects. Christian Førgaard also worked as a Camp Coordinator at Biotech Academy during the same year.

In 2017, Christian began their PhD journey at DTU Bioengineering. Christian Førgaard'sresearch project focused on bioconversion of carbon dioxide to value-added chemicals and other products. Christian Førgaard successfully completed their PhD in 2020.

Christian Førgaard Nielsen began their education at Esbjerg Gymnasium, where they completed their high school education from 2007 to 2010. Following this, they enrolled at DTU - Technical University of Denmark and earned a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Biotechnology, graduating in 2014. Christian Førgaard then pursued further studies at the same institution and obtained a Master of Science in Engineering (M.Sc.Eng.) degree in Biotechnology from 2015 to 2017. During the year 2015, they also had the opportunity to study as an exchange student at the University of Minnesota's College of Science and Engineering. Subsequently, Christian pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Enzyme Discovery and Characterization at DTU - Technical University of Denmark, where they completed their doctoral studies in 2020.
