Brett Hackleman has been working in the technology industry since 1999. Brett started their career as a Software Developer at Object Technology International, Inc. in 1999. In 2001, they joined IBM as a Software Developer in the Enablement Services department. In 2005, they became a Partner & Founder at Band XI International, Inc. and in 2010 they founded Bad Elf, LLC, where they serve as CTO & Founder and develops high-performance GPS and other hardware accessories for Apple's iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch devices. Theirtarget markets include GIS, aviation, marine, and outdoor activities.

Brett Hackleman attended North Carolina State University from 1996 to 2001, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering.
