Soohong Park has had a varied and impressive career. Soohong began their professional career in 2004 with an internship at Samsung Electronics, where they analyzed material data and presented physical stress issues inside DRAM semiconductor to team members. In 2006, they worked as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Johns Hopkins University, conducting SHPB (split Hopkinson pressure bar) experiments on polymers. In 2007, they held an internship at Bain & Company, where they conducted market research on the shipbuilding industry and produced a DCF valuation model for M&A deals. That same year, they began a Ph.D. research student role at the University of Cambridge, where they conducted a broad study of developing light-weight and efficient armour design for vehicles against various types of loading scenarios, evaluated and analyzed dynamic performances of structures manufactured from different types of materials, and investigated failure mechanisms of structures and wave propagation effects inside the structures. In 2011, they took a Senior Engineer role at Samsung Corning Precision Materials, where they investigated visco-elastic behavior of glass using CAE analysis at high temperature condition and developed forming process technologies. Finally, in 2015, they founded and became the CEO of Bagel Labs.
Soohong Park completed a B.S. in Engineering Mechanics, Applied Mechanics and Statistics from The Johns Hopkins University between 2003 and 2007. Soohong then went on to receive a Ph.D. in Engineering - Mechanics from the University of Cambridge between 2007 and 2012.
