Cian Whelan

Cian Whelan is a Senior ESG Analyst at Baillie Gifford, where work has focused on Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance factors since April 2019, following roles as an ESG Analyst. Prior to Baillie Gifford, Cian held various positions at Glass, Lewis & Co., including Research Analyst and Junior Research Analyst, where responsibilities included corporate governance research. Cian's academic background includes a PhD in Philosophy from University College Cork, with a focus on high conviction asset managers and their role in addressing climate change through ESG factors. Additional experience includes providing IT support for the School of Medicine and serving as a tutor and lecturer, fostering discussions among a diverse student body.
