Niraj R. Bajaj

Niraj R. Bajaj'scareer spans more than 25 years. Born on 10 October 1954, he did his B.Com., from Sydenham College of Commerce & Economics, Mumbai. He acquired his Masters in Business Administration from Harvard Business School, Boston, U.S.A. After doing a short stint at Bajaj Auto Limited and Bajaj Electricals Limited, he has been associated withMukand Limited, in various positions and is now theChairman & Managing Director. He was selected by World Economic Forum, as one of the "Global Leaders for Tomorrow", in 1993.

Niraj Bajaj was the President of the Indian Merchants' Chamber, four years back when it was celebrating its Centenary Year.Mukand Ltdis part of the Bajaj Group. TheBajaj Groupmanufactures and markets a range of products and services in India and abroad and is engaged in the business of Two & Three wheelers, Home appliances, Lamps & luminaries, Wind energy, Special alloy & Stainless steel, Cranes, Forging, Infrastructure development, Material handling equipment, Travel, General & Life insurance and Investment & Financial services.

The Bajaj Group has about 40,000 employees and the market capitalization of the Group is apprx 80,000 crores.

Niraj R. Bajajis also on the Board of Directors ofBajaj Auto Ltd., Bajaj Allianz Life and General Insurance Co Ltd., Bachhraj & Company, Jamnalal Sons and various other Bajaj Group Companies.He was President of the Alloy Steel Producer's Association and Indian Stainless Steel Development Association.

He represented India intable tennisfor 7 years between 1970-77, of which last 4 years was as the Captain. He has been three-timesAll-India Table Tennis Championand rankedIndia No.1, four times.He is the Recipient of: Arjuna Award, India's highest Sport's honour,Shiv Chhatrapati Award, Maharashtra's highest Sport's honour and Awarded theMaharashtra Gaurav Puraskar.

He has joined the board of Bajaj Auto Ltd on 9 September 2006.
