Angela Newton

Angela Newton is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in the fields of technical and innovation management within the food and agricultural industries. Currently serving as the Head of Technical and Innovation at Bakels Edible Oils (NZ) Ltd since October 2019, Angela previously held positions at Ballance Agri-Nutrients Ltd, including Commercial Chemicals Manager and Formulation Chemist. Angela's academic background includes a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Biochemistry from the University of Canterbury, complemented by a Bachelor of Science and a Bachelor of Business Studies from Massey University. Prior roles include research assistance at the University of Canterbury and product development technician at New Zealand Pharmaceuticals Limited, as well as relevant experience as a PhD student focused on flavor formation in dairy products at Fonterra.
