Fiona Matson

Fiona Matson has a solid and diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Fiona started their career as a Work Shadow to an Economic Advisor in the Government Economic Service in 2007. Fiona then worked as a Public Affairs Assistant at the Royal Bank of Scotland, where they built relationships between the bank and the government. After that, Fiona worked as a Public Affairs Intern at Quatro Public Relations, specializing in property development, regeneration, and energy sectors.

In 2010, Fiona joined Aberdeen Asset Management as a Graduate Business Analyst, rotating between different teams before taking a permanent position in Business Development. Fiona then became a Business Development Executive and later a Business Development Manager, focusing on servicing clients in the family office and charity sectors.

In 2014, Fiona joined James Hambro & Partners as a Business Development Manager, specializing in providing investment services tailored to the specific objectives of charities and not-for-profit organizations. Fiona later became a Business Development Consultant, working closely with charities to meet the demands of the growing client base.

Since 2017, Fiona has been working at Baker McKenzie, a leading law firm, initially as a Business Development Manager for the Global Banking & Finance practice and later as a Senior Business Development Manager. In their current role as an Associate Director, they are responsible for developing cross-border business opportunities and executing the global strategy to drive profitable revenue growth for the Global Banking & Finance and Capital Markets practices. Fiona works closely with specialist teams on client development, profile raising, and communications.

Fiona Matson obtained a Master of Arts with Honours degree in Economics and Politics from The University of Edinburgh. Fiona then pursued a Development Management MSc degree with a focus on Development Economics and International Development at The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) from 2009 to 2010. In 2008, they were a Visiting Research Fellow at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, specializing in HEALTH ECONOMICS AND HIV/AIDS RESEARCH DIVISION (HEARD). Fiona Matson also holds certifications such as the CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) from the CFA Institute obtained in October 2015 and an Investment Management Certificate obtained in 2011.
