Fran Barlet, PhD has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries and roles. Prior to this, they held positions as a Business Development Manager and Assistant Manager, also focusing on sustainability.

Before joining Baker McKenzie, Fran worked at CDE Global, where they served as a Product Group Manager and Marketing & Sales Support Executive, responsible for developing marketing strategies and communication plans in various regions.

Fran also has experience working as a freelance Communications Consultant, Copywriter, and Marketing specialist, handling various projects such as PR, translation, and marketing campaigns. They have worked with organizations like the Northern Ireland Council for Ethnic Minorities and ILGA-Europe.

Earlier in their career, Fran worked as a Communications and Marketing Officer at CO3 Chief Officers 3rd Sector and the Community Foundation for Northern Ireland.

Fran's professional journey began as a Teaching Assistant and Part-time Lecturer at Queen's University Belfast.

Fran Barlet, PhD, completed a Master's degree in British and American literature & civilization at Université Jean Monnet Saint-Etienne from 1991 to 1993. Their dissertation focused on Northern Irish politics. They then pursued a DEA (Post-Master's Degree) in the British civilization department at the same university, with a dissertation also related to Northern Irish politics, from 1993 to 1995. Fran Barlet then obtained a DESS (Post-Master's Degree) in specialized English-French translation (media) from Traduction Spécialisée Multilingue de l'Université de Lille 3 for the year 1994-1995. Lastly, Fran Barlet completed their education with a Doctorate in Northern Irish politics from Université Paris 8, from 1995 to 2001.
