Zane Pretorius

Zane Pretorius is an experienced aquaculture professional with a strong background in fish farming management. Currently serving as Area Manager at Bakkafrost since August 2016, Zane oversees marine Atlantic salmon farming operations across multiple sites including the Isle of Mull and Loch Striven. Prior to this role, Zane was the Seawater Manager at Kames Fish Farming, responsible for managing marine fish farms producing various species. Zane's career began at Torhouse Trout Limited, where responsibilities included managing day-to-day operations on a freshwater trout cage farm and working at a hatchery. Zane holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc Hons) in Aquaculture and Fishery Management from the University of Portsmouth, a Higher National Certificate (HNC) in Fish Farming from SRUC, and completed higher-level studies in Geography, Information Systems, Biology, Maths, and English at Dumfries High School.
