Bob McGivney has had a diverse range of work experiences throughout their career. Bob started by founding Austin's First Single-Stream recycling pick-up service for businesses and events at Wandering River Recycling. After four years, the company was acquired by Balcones Resources, where they held various roles, including Operations Director for Small Business & Event Services, Director of Business Development, Director of Austin Sales, and currently serves as the Director of Sales, managing sales teams in Austin, Dallas, and Little Rock Arkansas. Prior to this, they worked as a Development/Underwriting & Corporate Sales Representative at KUT Public Media, where they brought in corporate sponsorship from accounts such as AT&T and BMW. Bob also gained experience in global sales at CNET Networks and worked as an Account Executive at SF Weekly/East Bay Express - New Times Media, where they were a top-performing ad sales producer. Their earlier roles include being a Programming Assistant at KFOG 104.5fm San Francisco, an On Air DJ/Host at KUSF 90.3fm San Francisco, a Board Operator & Marketing Assistant at KLLC "Alice" 97.3fm San Francisco, and a College Radio Representative at Universal Records. Bob has demonstrated skills in sales management, partnerships, project management, operations, customer service, and business development throughout their career.

Bob McGivney attended San Francisco State University from 2000 to 2003, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Communication (BECA). In addition to their degree, they have obtained several certifications, including being NAID Certified Document & Hardware Destruction by the National Association for Information Destruction in November 2016 and earning a Class B CDL from the State of Texas in January 2008. Bob also has a certification in Six Sigma, although the institution and specific details regarding this certification are not provided.
