Erik Schetina

Erik Schetina has a vast and diverse work experience. Erik is currently serving as an Advisor at Vaccinogen since October 2022. Prior to this, they worked as the Chief Information Security Officer at Balcony.io starting from October 2019. Erik also worked as an Associate Professor at Fairleigh Dickinson University from June 2018 onwards. Before that, they held the position of Director of Special Projects at Green Hills Software from April 2015 to June 2018. Erik Schetina also served as the Chief Scientist at Valicore Technologies from December 2006 to June 2012. Erik has significant experience in the cybersecurity field, having co-founded and served as the Chief Technology Officer of Trustwave Corporation from September 1998 to August 2005. Finally, they started their career as a Senior Systems Engineer at United States Department of Defense, Booz-Allen and Hamilton, Nichols Research in 1985 and continued in that role until 1998.

Erik Schetina holds a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Electrical Engineering from Columbia University. Erik also holds a Master of Science (MS) degree in Electrical Engineering from The Johns Hopkins University. In addition, they obtained certifications such as Private Pilot and sUAS Pilot from the Federal Aviation Administration in May 2010, INFOSEC Assessor from the DoD Critical Infrastructure Assessment Office (CIAO) in September 1998, and CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) in 1998.
