Shannon Bender

Shannon Bender currently serves as a Reinsurance Underwriting Trainee at Sompo, following a comprehensive background in leadership and event organization. A volunteer event organizer for the St. Baldrick's Foundation since 2016, Shannon has successfully raised $35,000 personally and contributed to events that garnered over $300,000 annually for childhood cancer research. Shannon has held various roles at Vassar College, including positions in executive leadership, consulting team leadership, and junior consultancy, where efforts resulted in successful client outreach and project proposals for local businesses. Previous internships at Sompo International, Guy Carpenter, and the New York State Senate further provided valuable experience in financial analysis, risk assessment, and constituent services. Shannon earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics with Department Honors from Vassar College, coupled with a minor in American Politics, building a solid foundation for a career in the insurance and consulting industries.
